I lost my beloved mother to Diabetes in 2003 and during that same year I started to experience some digestive issues so I decided to change my way of eating from my traditional Jamaican meals to a vegan lifestyle. It was not easy at first making the transition because the vegan cuisine was a totally different from my traditional Jamaican cuisine.
I did not know how to prepare vegan meals so my beloved significant other Philip Michael Thomas (Miami Vice) bought me a vegan cookbook. I fell in love with preparing vegan meals from the cookbook but I wanted to learn how to create more exquisite vegan dishes so I went to Culinary school. However, it was not until I started experimenting in the privacy of my kitchen that I created my own vegan recipes.
My mission is to Inspire, Educate and Promote Healthy Living so I decided to publish my second cookbook Sensational Vegan Recipes with some of my quick and easy to prepare dishes to encourage healthy eating. The book is divided into five segments with recipes for Smoothies, Juice, Super Soups, Salads,Divine Dishes and Raw VeganDesserts. I created a few of my dishes using my famous Jamaican Jerk sauce to share some of my Jamaican culture into my Vegan Cuisine. Growing up in Jamaica Gizzada was one of my favorite snacks. I decided to create my favorite childhood pastry into a Vegan No Bake Gizzard Tart, so I could continue to enjoy some of my Jamaican sweet treats.
The sauce is what makes the meals tasty and delicious because the sauce is the boss. I created aCreamy Cashew Cheese Sauce, aCreamy Sesame sauce and a Carrot Ginger Sesame Sauce. I hope Sensational Vegan Recipes cookbook will be a blessing to your life.
